Growth Strategies in Open Economies

This summer term I will teach Growth Strategies in Open Economies with Jürgen Bitzer. Since I teach only half of the lecture, I will focus on global imbalances and connect the real side (New Economic Geography) with the monetary side (Sterilization, Institutions, Balance Sheets, Transfer Problem):

Schedule (part I: Dr. Ehnts)
1) The location of industry
2) The core-periphery model
3) Sterilizing capital flows
4) The international economic order
5) The location of industry: Europe
6) The location of industry: The World

Topics for student papers to be presented at the seminar will be announced on our e-learning platform. Highly recommended for our M.A. students in Transnational Economics and Law (TEL). Note to our incoming students: lecture and seminar will be held in English. The lecture starts April 5th 2010.
